Although we have already done a L.A Kings looks here, in honour of their Stanley Cup we decided to do another. This look is appropriate for all those Stanley Cup celebratory parties. You can support your team and still look fancy chic. This look ties in all the Kings colours into the perfect look for a night out and adds direct support with the lapel pins. The pins are a super quick, cheap and easy way to add support without screaming I am going tailgating.  Go ahead strap on this look and celebrate your teams Cup win.

Just like always if you don’t have something here don’t sweat just use what you have, this look is just a guideline. If you love this look and aren’t a Kings fan just swap out the Kings stuff to fit your teams colours and logo. Hope you enjoyed it.

Go Kings.

Kings Stanley Cup Look

There’s something about seeing a player hoist the Cup that gives you shivers. It’s that inexplicable moment where you find yourself transported to the ice wherever you may be. Tonight, the Kings won Stanley and over 2 million people had goose bumps. It doesn’t really matter if it’s your team skating around the rink to monstrous cheers with equally as monstrous playoff beards. For hockey fans, winning the cup symbolizes a lifetime of hard work, passion, dedication and sacrifice. It is a legacy shared by every person who has ever laced up, driven to the rink at five am, or pulled on a jersey. For the 584 LA alumni tonight’s victory represents 45 years of fervent devotion.
Time stood still as greats shook hands, the defeated Devils deflated but standing tall. Martin Brodeur and Conn Smythe winner Jonathan Quick’s embrace represented not only a hard fought battle but a symbolic passing of the torch with both goalies driving their respective teams to excellence. An elated Darryl Sutter, who began his coaching career 20 years to the day, proudly raised his first Stanley Cup to exalted roars. The LA boys beamed, most unable to describe the euphoric sensation. Appropriately, Boston’s More Than a Feeling blared throughout Staples Center.
And so we all watched (some may have even shed a tear) as the Kings were crowned tonight, because we love the game and it’s the Cup.

No, you’re not dreaming. There was postseason play in Toronto this year – AHL’s Toronto Marlies played this weekend for the Calder Cup. Sadly though, Hogtown’s trophy case still lies empty; the Leafs’ farm team went down in four games to the Norfolk Admirals. The Tampa affiliates hoisted the Cup Saturday afternoon with a 6-1 victory.

New Jersey did the impossible Saturday night handing the Kings their first loss away from Staples Center this postseason. With a first star rating and 25 saves, Martin Brodeur lead the Devils to a 2-1 victory and dashed LA’s historical dreams of not only 11 straight road game victories but also their first franchise Cup. Zach Parise and Bryce Salvador both scored for NJD to fight off elimination. New Jersey is only the third team to force a Game 6 after falling behind 3-0 in the series. The Devils will continue their epic battle-back Monday in LA.

Have a young hockey fan at home? Looking for a creative addition to your cubicle? Print out this cool Detroit Red Wings Steve Yzerman paper hockey doll!

Here is a pretty funny Ovechkin version for all the non Ovechkin fans. Or, if Sidney Crosby is your #1, they have a paper doll to cure your FANtasies.

Another easy and quick idea to add some creative fun to your next road trip or just a Sunday morning lounge; print off a few hockey pages and make your own hockey coloring book. Its as easy as putting “hockey coloring pages” into the search engine.

Here are a few good ones:

The Devils announced their presence for the first time in the finals refusing to lose much to the chagrin of the Kings. Desperately down three games to none, New Jersey fought back to take Game 4 with a score of 3-1 over LA. Adam Henrique scored the game winner with 4:31 left to play in the third, and, with an added Ilya Kovalchuk empty netter, NJD thwarted the dreaded elimination sweep. With Martin Brodeur’s 21 saves for the win, the Devils will attempt to become only the third team to bounce back from a 3-0 deficit to win a series. New Jersey has a tough road ahead; the Kings have yet to lose away from home this postseason and are looking for their first Cup in franchise history. Game 5 takes place in Newark on Saturday.

2012 NHL Awards, June 20, Las Vegas

There is no greater feeling than watching your team battle it out in the Stanley Cup Finals – well besides seeing them actually hoist the cup – but what do you do now that that feeling is dying down?

Now that the Worlds are over and the Finals are coming to an end, it may seem like decades until training camp rolls around in September, bringing with it that wonderful pre-season excitement and the holiest of all holy hockey nights – opening night. But don’t you fear, hockey fans, there are still many opportunities to soak up a few extra doses of your favorite hockey teams before their players disappear – or at least attempt to – for the off season.

The first of which is the NHL Awards.

Although they did not make the playoffs this post-season the Montreal Canadiens have been anything but quiet. There have been a few moves made lately and certainly plenty more to come. The Canadiens many changes have improved the club in a positive manner.

All of these positive changes started with the firings of Jacques “Stick to the system, no matter what” Martin, the tyrant Pierre Gauthier and last but certainly not least Bob Gainey.  Then came the hiring of Marc Bergevin as the Canadiens new GM, he seemed like a light at the end of a very dark tunnel. This hiring was highly praised as the right move. Bergevin is well liked and respected all over the league and in Montreal. Shortly thereafter Bergevin hired Rick Dudley as an assistant GM; as well as extending the contract of Larry Carriere in the front office where he belongs, rather than behind the bench.  Next up came the hiring of Scott Mellanby as director of player personnel. So began the Canadiens new regime, hopefully a significantly more successful one.

The Kings dominated Monday night in LA and take a 3-0 lead on the series over the Devils. Alec Martinez, Anze Kopitar, Jeff Carter and Justin Williams each scored in the Kings’ 4-0 regulation victory while Jonathan Quick recorded his third shutout of the playoffs making 22 saves. It is the third time LA has been ahead three games to none this postseason. The Kings will look to sweep and take home Stanley Wednesday in Los Angeles.
