The Boston Bruins have earned the Sports Team of the Year Award for their excellence and outstanding achievements for the time period from March 1, 2011 through February 29, 2012.

“Each year, the award honors one sports franchise based on an evaluation
of excellence, growth, creativity, innovation, sound planning,
implementation and outcomes”.

“The Boston Bruins were acknowledged for their 2011 Stanley Cup
Championship title, as well as their involvement in numerous charitable
contributions to the Greater Boston community.”

The Bruins franchise is no stranger to creativity when it comes to both fan involvement and team accessibility; holding high end events throughout the season such as Casino Night and the Bruins Foundation Golf Tournament. In addition, players spend countless hours donating time to local community programs and events. Bruins community involvement has always been a huge part of the organization; all before even winning the Cup in 2011. After bringing Stanley to Boston, the community involvement didn’t take a rest, it seemed to double.

With an extended off season after a first round exit; the creativity wheels are sure to be turning; leaving the Boston and Bruins fan communities with the anticipation of another hopeful season.
