Though she was born and raised in South Florida, Elizabeth’s family is originally from Buffalo, New York. She developed a love for the Buffalo Sabres and hockey when she was less than 10 years old. The 2004-05 NHL lockout was a dark time for Elizabeth (or Beth, as friends know her) because none of her friends at the time could relate to her hockey withdrawals. That changed a few years later when she met her boyfriend in college. A South Florida native himself, and an avid Florida Panthers fan, he got her into the home team. Together they work for their college hockey team (the FAU Owls), broadcasting games on the internet for fans at home. Elizabeth is a huge USA Hockey fan and wishes she could have seen the 1980’s ‘Miracle on Ice’ team work their magic. Her favorite sports moment to date was Zach Parise’s game-tying goal in the last 24 seconds of the Olympic gold medal game in 2010. The memory is bittersweet, as the United States ended up losing the game, but she is looking forward to the 2014 Olympics and hopes to see Team USA return with a vengeance. Between her 2 favorite NHL teams, her college club, and USA Hockey, it’s hard to tell which team she loves most, but she is passionate about them all.
Aside from hockey, Elizabeth loves baking and making fancy chocolates. She also loves fashion and being crafty, both of which hobbies can be seen in some of her Pink Puck pieces.
