If I had to list my top five teams in the league, the San Jose Sharks would rank fairly high. Why? It isn’t because of statistics or a roster filled with talent, although the team is stacked in those departments. I would rate the Sharks in my top five, because I grew up within 25 minutes of their AHL affiliate in Worcester, MA, a team which has some of the most dedicated fans in the league–my close friends and family among them. Thus,  much of my knowledge of the Sharks system and players is owed to them. So, while many games bleed together in my memory book, I am beyond excited to see the team hit the ice in Boston. We’ve also done stories with a few of the Sharks players, such as Logan Couture and Jason Demers.

Some games are just games and others you know are going to be quite the match up. Tonight, I was ready to see the east and west collide…

photoBreakdown:

Black Skinny Leg Dress Pants, TJMaxx, $15.00
Long Sleeve Purple Silk Blouse,  mothers closet circa the early 90’s, I cut out the shoulder pads and it’s the best blouse I own! Seriously, it’s a favorite in the rotation and even hit the ice last season when the Blackhawks won the cup.
Black Blazer, Macys, Sale, $11.98
Leopard Print Heels, Sears, $23.99
Camo Studded Bracelet, Forever 21, $4.80
Gold Belt, Old Navy, $6.99

Media Tip: Try to avoid wearing necklaces with any length to them, of course you may think your outfit needs one and chances are it does. But trying to untangle a necklace from the mandatory credential lanyard during your post game commute home isn’t the greatest experience. The lanyard will serve as a necklace just fine.

*Of note, when a team has an appreciation night, try to support it because many members of the media do. Hockey Fights Cancer was in full support for the game and lavender or purple was the color of choice – thus my purple blouse and lavender nail polish.
