According to TSN, Bruins goalie Tim Thomas may sit out the 2012-13 season. Thomas had a Cinderella season in 2011 winning the Vezina, Conn Smythe and Stanley Cup with the Boston Bruins.

With a no trade clause expiring on July 1st, his days wearing the spoked B may be numbered. Although no official word has been made, or even discussed by Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli; speculation has been rising in recent months.

After Thomas’ lackluster season and the White House debacle, his heart didn’t seem in the game. Focus has been directed towards his personal life and beliefs, instead of his on ice talents. Perhaps a season out of the limelight would be a healthy move for the Bruins goaltender.
