LA won their eighth straight battle away from home, taking Phoenix 4-3 in overtime and, with the win, the Kings are now headed to the Cup! Dustin Penner slid one past Mike Smith with 2:18 left in OT to clinch the Western Conference finals in five games. Smith stopped 47 shots for the Coyotes in the loss. The Kings’ journey to the cup included knocking off the West’s top three seeds; amazingly LA accomplished all this in just 14 games. They join the 2006 Edmonton Oilers as the only No.8 team to make it to Stanley. LA now awaits their next rival – New York or New Jersey. Kings will play visitor Game 1 on Wednesday.
