Phoenix dropped their first game in a series this playoff march on Mother’s Day. Captain Dustin Brown scored the go-ahead for the Los Angeles in the third who took Game 1, 4-2. Brown has been on fire for LA setting the pace for his Kings who out-shot Phoenix 48-27. Jonathan Quick recouped after giving up the first period lead on a shot from centre ice, making 25 saves. His counter, Mike Smith, let in 3 goals on 47 shots for the Coyotes. Game 2 is set for Tuesday in Arizona.
