Claude Giroux will speak to Brendan Shanahan this morning at 11 am following his hit to the head of Dainius Zubrus. It’s unclear if the hit was intentional, but Giroux served a 2 minute minor penalty for an illegal hit to the head during Game 4 last night.

Although Giroux’s fate is uncertain, one fact is; if Giroux receives a suspension it’ll be a huge hit to the Flyers. Giroux has had an incredible season this year, and has continued the pace right through the playoffs. With 8 goals, 9 assists and 17 points in the playoffs alone, it’s easy to place high expectations on Giroux. The Flyers now face elimination when Game 5 rolls into Philadelphia on Tuesday evening and it’s a safe guess that most of Flyers Nation is anxiously awaiting the outcome of their most productive player.

Update: Giroux has been suspended 1 game, a game in which his team will face elimination. Watch Shanahan’s explanation here: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=630913&cmpid=nhl-rxl-twt
