Kings advance
For the first time in the same playoff year the No. 8 seed knocked out both the first and second to advance to the finals. LA beat the Blues 3-1 to sweep the series and become the first team to advance to round three. Dustin Brown was on fire for the Kings scoring both the go-ahead goal and an empty-netter while Jonathan Quick made 23 saves in the victory. St. Louis only had six goals on Quick this series. It is the first time since 1993 for LA in the conference finals and the first franchise series sweep. The favoured Kings, who took down #1 and #2 in nine games, will play either Phoenix or Nashville in the West.
