Round one battles raged on this Tuesday. Here’s what went down…

Florida wins again
Panthers clawed back from a three goal deficit to take New Jersey 4-3 at the Prudential Center. The Devils pulled veteran Martin Brodeur after giving up three goals on 12 shots in less than 25 minutes of play time. Florida now leads the series 2-1 and play again in Newark on Thursday.

Preds paw Wings
With rare at home losses, Detroit now finds themselves down three to one in the series. Pekka Rinne made 40 saves for the Predators in the 3-1 victory. The teams head to Nashville on Friday.

Coyotes take OT win
This back and forth battle went to Phoenix who took Chicago 3-2 in overtime. A brutal first period hit on Blackhawks Marian Hossa marred the game. Hossa exited via stretcher after Raffi Torres targeted his head with a late hit. Coyotes lead the series 2-1 and resume their quest Thursday in Chicago.
