The race for the cup was riddled with goals Friday night. In the end, a total of 29 marked an exciting day 3. Here’s what happened:

New Jersey over Panthers

The Devils took game one from Florida 3-2. Even Martin Brodeur was credited with an assist in this match up! New Jersey came out early in this one with three in the first and, despite Florida’s two goal answer in the second, stayed on top. Devils lead the series 1-0.

Flying high in Philly

Wow…a total of 13 goals in the battle of Pennsylvania. Pens shot out of the gate early with Sidney Crosby’s second goal of the series just 15 seconds in. The Flyers crushed the second and third period tallying seven goals. Claude Giroux scored a hat trick in the win. Philly leads the Pens by two games.

Wings take Preds

Detroit, with the help of goaltender Jimmy Howard, came out on top beating Nashville 3-2. Howard made 24 saves in the win. Detroit ties the series and heads back home for game three.

LA is king

A pair of shorthanded goals lifted the Kings over Vancouver. LA takes game two 4-2 and lead the series two games to none. The Canucks travel to Los Angeles for game three on Sunday night.
