Toronto closed out their home season with an OT victory over Tampa Bay Thursday night. Captain Dion Phaneuf scored the overtime game winner, his 11th of the season, to take the Lightning 3-2. Tampa Bay’s Steve Stamkos edged one goal closer to his milestone, scoring number 59 surrounded by his hometown crowd. Stamkos will become the first player since Alex Ovechkin in 2007-08 to complete this feat. Toronto goalie, Ben Scivens, made 35 saves in the win and will return to the Marlies next week for their playoff run. The Leafs face Montreal Saturday for their final game of the season.
